Yellowstone Top Photos of Geothermal Features

With all the wildlife and beautiful landscapes in Yellowstone National Park, don’t forget to visit and photograph Yellowstone’s geothermal areas. Yellowstone is in a huge volcanic basin. Yellowstone has tens of thousands of geothermal features including geysers, hot springs, mud pots, and fumaroles. Yellowstone has the highest concentration of active geysers in the world including the world famous Old Faithful Geyser.

Some of the more popular geothermal areas to visit are the Upper Geyser Basin, Midway Geyser Basin, Lower Geyser Basin, and Mammoth Hot Springs. However, there are many other areas to view and photograph geothermal activity throughout the park. It is best to visit these areas at midday when the sun reaches deep into the pool and brings out the beautiful color of the bacteria. Also, stop by the visitor centers to check the schedule for that day’s geyser eruptions.
