Photo Story: Eastern Kingbird Feeding its Young

One thing I really enjoy about Bird and Wildlife photography is witnessing and photographing the undisturbed behavior of the animals.  It’s great to get a beautiful portrait of a bald eagle, but capturing an eagle catching a fishing in its talons or building its nest is really special.

One this occasion, I was photographing a Juvenile Eastern Kingbird and I saw another bird flying in. I was able to capture this sequence of the Adult Eastern Kingbird feeding its young.

Feeding these young birds keep their parents really busy.  The initial morsel of food was not enough to satisfy the Juvenile Kingbird.  The demanding young Kingbird continued to call at its parent until the adult Kingbird flew off for more food for the young bird.

So next time you are out photographing birds or wildlife, take your time and watch the animal’s behavior and the surrounding area, you may be rewarded with the opportunity to witness and photograph some amazing animal behavior.  It’s also really special to publish a photo sequence or video of the behavior.
