Olympus looking to complete in the PRO market with New M.ZUIKO PRO Lenses
With the announcement of their new OMD E-M1 Micro Four Thirds camera, Olympus also announced two new M.ZUIKO PRO category lenses.
Olympus 12-40mm / f2.8 M.Zuiko PRO Lens
Olympus ED 40-150mm f/2.8 M.Zuiko PRO

The Olympus 12-40mm / f2.8 M.Zuiko PRO Lens is priced at $999. The lens will ship in December and is available for pre-order now. The 40-150mm f/2.8 M.Zuiko PRO will be available in 2014.
This two lenses are micro four thirds versions of the popular full frame 24-70mm f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8 Pro caliber lenses. Combined with the release of the new Olympus OM-D E-M1 camera, it looks like Olympus is trying to make inroads in the Pro photography market with many pro and amateur photographers experimenting with smaller mirrorless cameras.

The lenses are pricey in comparison to other micro four thirds lenses but reasonable when compared to their Canon and Nikon counterparts.
Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8 II USM – $2,299
Nikon 24-70mm f/28G ED AF-S – $1,818
Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II – $2,499
Nikon 70-200 f/2.8G ED VR II – $2,399
If the new Olympus PRO lenses perform anywhere near their full frame counterparts, they will be quite a deal for micro four thirds shooters.
