Some people like to collect souvenirs from their travels. I like to collect photographs from different architectural, cultural, and natural subjects.
Some of my favorite photography travel subjects to collect are doors, windows, bridges, people, transportation and birds. But there are countless others.
Doors are what separate and protect us from the outside world. They also provide privacy and shelter from the weather.

In many cultures, doors are decorated to protect the home or to bring good luck. The front door is often the most decorated and ornate feature of the home.

There are also many Indian customs and traditions surrounding doors, especially the front door of the home.

- Indians decorate the main door of their home with a festoon which is made of torans with fresh mango leaves or colourful scented flowers. This is traditionally done during festivals or celebrations. Decorating the front door with a festoon brings a positive energy to the house.
- For Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, Indians decorate their outside doors and windows with lights.
- Muslims also commonly decorate their the front door of their home during Ramadan.
- One Hindu traditions involves tying a black doll to the front door to prevent evil powers from entering the house
